Billy Drake Racing To Sell Equipment,

Looking For New Opportunities for 2009
 
BLOOMINGTON, IL (November 26, 2008) – Billy Drake Racing and Billy Drake has decided to seek other opportunities for 2009 and is getting out of owning his own racing team. Effective immediately Billy Drake is selling all his racing equipment including his current racecars, engines and team transporter. Also for sale are numerous spare parts, wheels and other various equipment and parts accumulated over the years. Billy Drake has been contemplating his future plans for some time and felt like this was the best time to make this decision.

 
“I’ve been discussing my future racing plans with my family for some time now and we feel this is the right time to make this decision and look for other opportunities for 2009. With the economy the way it is and my kids getting older I have decided to sell my racing equipment and look for other opportunities that I can spend more time with my family. I would be interested in driving for someone else in 2009 and listen to any offers someone might have. But I am no longer interested in owning my own team and the responsibilities that go along with that. My kids are getting older and I really want to spend more time with them”, stated Billy.
 
Billy Drake is coming off the 2008 season finishing a respectable 4th in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series final point’s standings and posting two victories in other non-sanctioned events in 2008. Billy Drake competed at all 40 series events in 2008 with the hopes of contending for the championship. Billy improved on his 2007 series final points standings finishing 4th in the 2008 series final points standings. Billy had six (6) top five finishes, seventeen (17) top ten finishes and one (1) fast time award in 2008 on the series. His best finish came in May at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway where Billy finished 2nd. Billy would finish 4th in the final series points standings finishing behind Earl Pearson Jr., Bart Hartman and Steve Casebolt.
